About Yoga, Pranayam & Meditation

Yoga, the term originated in Sanskrit, is a group of physical activities that are coupled with mental and spiritual practices - an art that originated in Ancient India probably by Aryans. Pranayam and Meditation have also become part of some forms of Yoga practices. Contrary to the claims, there is no systematic study to prove that it, by itself, cures any disease. Nevertheless, evidences suggest that it may reduce biological risk factors and aid in a patient's psychological healing process. It found its way in the Western World from India in the 20th Century. Searching web with the term ‘yoga’ now produces thousands of hits covering original articles, books, and videos originated from various parts of the Globe. Recently, it has gained more popularity when Honorable Narendra Modi, the prime minister of India, promoted Yoga through United Nations - millions of people across the Globe participated in this practice on the International Day of Yoga (21st June, 2016 ).
