The epidemic, which was initially restricted in Wuhan (China) and rapidly turned in to a pandemic affecting more than 200 countries, has critically affected the Public Health. While diagnostic test based on the RT-PCR of the viral genome can identify the causative agent, serological test can identify if there is any humoral antibody (particularly, IgG) developed in the patient. Incidentally, as of today (May 12, 2020) there is no drug known that can cure or any vaccine that can protect from this highly dreaded infection.
